Manchester's Nik Feral and Slovenia's Alex Nemec join forces once more, label boss Iain Taylor remixes

For his return to the Rejekts label, Manchester's Nik Feral has teamed up once more with his semi-regular collaborator from Slovenia, Mirabilis Records boss Alex Nemec. Together, they've come up with a four-track EP that straddles the techno/tech-house divide nicely.

U Can't Stop Me itself is presented in three mixes. The Original, which opens proceedings, is a tuff, driving affair that'd slot well into techno sets with its ominous synths and heavy 4/4 thud. Label boss Iain Taylor then supplies a brace of remixes that sit more comfortably under the tech-house banner, his I'm Horny Remix taking its name from an added, vaguely Arabic-sounding horn that replaces/supplements the synths by way of a main hook while his Not Tonight Dub is an eyes-down, percussive workout, but still with Da Funk flowing through its veins. Completing the EP is Ultra, a deeper, groovier jam that leans towards 'melodic techno' territory.

With mixes to suit a range of DJs/moods, this is another strong release from the Rejekts camp, with Taylor's dub of the title track my personal pick.
