We Are The Brave continue a fine run of form with this EP from the label boss

Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave have putting out some seriously good techno of late, with tracks from the likes of Gary Beck, Reset Robot and Boxia. The run of good tunes continues with this release.

The EP contains three tracks, of which the first is Colour Of A Dream. It starts with a kick and a chord sequence that gets louder as the track progresses, and is added to by a mechanical hi-hat, deep bass tones and other percussive elements. The track has bags of energy and features a a male spoken speech as the hook, which fits the track perfectly. Next comes Joy Rider, which starts with a deep thud and galloping drums, and builds into a fast-paced techno track with stabbed synths and a quiet arpeggiated sound in the background. There are a number of breakdowns, and then it's back into the hard driving beats. Finally you get Together Till The End, with a doubled-up kickdrum and pad sounds that add tension, an emerging synth riff and moaned male vocals which make for a compelling listen.

The first two are full-on techno while Together Till The End is a more soulful and introspective piece. My favourite is the title track, but all three are well worth seeking out if you're a fan of the genre.
