Slightly mysterious UK duo 2MINDSTogether serve up two funk-fuelled dancefloor belters
2MINDSTogether are a UK production duo whose sound is predominantly tech-house, but from the funkier side of the genre - as can be seen from these two top-tier tracks.
First into the fray is Silent, which starts with moaned female vocals and off-time percussion that are swiftly joined by a male vocal repeating "house music". That takes you to a mini-breakdown with a snare-led build-up, and on into the main body of the track which is driven by a funky bassline, a synth riff and female vocals. It's all very funky, and comes replete with twists and turns that give it some serious oomph and make it stand out from the pack.
The second track, Daddy Scream, is again at the funkier end of the tech-house spectrum, with a big bouncy bassline, synth stabs, vocal shots and a swung drum backbeat. There's also a male vocal, put through a multitude of effects so it becomes less a plain vocal and more part and parcel of the very rhythm-orientated track. For me this is the better of the two cuts, as there's so much going on in the tune, which is quite dubby and has real punch.
So there you have it: something a little different from the norm that's multi-layered and definitely a lot of fun. My advice is to jump on it now before everyone else gets on the case - as I suspect they will when they hear how good it is!
