2020 DMC Championships set for virtual final

Beardyman's DJ JFB will once more represent the UK after the fourth Nationals win of his career

With the various National Championships now complete, this year's DMC World DJ Championships are nearing their climax at the end of this month, when the World Final will be streamed live for the first time in the Championships' 35-year history.

This year's competion has had to take place virtually, due the coronavirus pandemic; despite that they still attracted over 350 entrants, with the winners of the Nationals as follows:

France – Tony J Kut

Italy – DJ Bront
Japan – DJ 14
New Zealand – K Swizz

United Kingdom – JFB
USA – Immortal

The UK is represented by JFB, Beardyman's DJ, who has won the UK Champs three times previously – in 2007, 2011 and 2015 and was once described as “the thinking man's Grandmaster Flash” by no less a personage than Fatboy Slim.

A 16 National champions will now compete against each other in the World Elimination round on 8 November, with just 10 going through to the World Championship proper on 27 November. The eventual winner will be announced on 4 December.
