PREMIERE! 'Groove 2 Me' by Danny Marx

Organ-fuelled deep house from Simma Black

2020 May 20

The 'Materialize/Groove 2 Me' EP is out on Friday

Our first exclusive track premiere this week comes courtesy of Low Steppa's Simma Black label, as iDJ brings you a first chance to hear Groove To Me by Danny Marx. The track comes from the Materialize/Groove 2 Me EP, which is out this Friday (22 May).

A native of London, Danny Marx has been playing out regularly in his hometown, across the UK and in Ibiza since 1998, but it's only in the past few years that he's made the move into production. A Toolroom Academy graduate, he made his debut in 2017 and has so far chalked up releases on respected labels such as Salted Music, Kidology and Vudu – and now he puts another feature in his cap as he delivers his first two-tracker for Simma Black.

The EP's other track, Materialize, is a hefty affair that builds and builds with tuff, techy 4/4s, surging bass, drawn-out trumpets and numerous competing vocal snips. But it was the deeper, more garage-leaning Groove 2 Me, with its old school organ bassline and female vocal cut-ups, that caught our ears the most.
