French DJ Armando comes to UK label Dubiks with a four-track EP
Today's exclusive track premiere comes from Armando – just not, y'know, that one! The Armando in question isn't the late Chicago house originator, but rather a French techno and electro producer who's also a member of Jurassic collective. Down To Up comes from his new EP for UK label Dubiks, Lock In Mind, which is out tomorrow.
The choice of artist name may ruffle a few feathers, but our Gallic chum certainly has the studio chops to suggest bigger things ahead. He describes his style as a fusion of “ambient, electro, techno and breaks”, a description that's borne out by the new EP, whose cuts range from the soundscape-y opener Ambient Snippet to the driving peaktime techno of Galactic Travel.
The track that caught our ears the most, though, was Down To Up, wherein those electro and breakbeat influences can clearly be heard. See what you think…
