Out today, the track got its first public airing on DJ Target's Radio 1 show last night

Today's exclusive track premiere is one for the garage lovers, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear CNTRL by Bklava, which is out today as a single on Long Lost Brother.

Actually, strictly speaking this is your second chance to hear CNTRL – DJ Target gave the track its first-ever public airing on his Radio 1 show last night. But that'll do, especially as the release marks the rebirth of the label after 15 years' absence!

Hailing from South London, Bklava is a young female DJ, vocalist and producer of mixed Irish-Lebanese heritage who's already picking up support from the likes of Annie Mac, Roska, Matt 'Jam' Lamont and, most notably, UKG legend Wookie, who was actually behind the boards for this one (as well as co-writing the track). No surprise, then, that CNTRL captures that late 90s/early 00s 2-step vibe as well as it does, while Bklava's jazz-inflected vocal brings the sweetness and musicality that's too often missing from garage in the post-grime era.

See what you think…
