The upgraded all-in-one system is available very soon, priced £1,529
Pioneer has announced a 'mark 2' version of its popular all-in-one rekordbox controller, the XDJ-RX. The upgraded XDJ-RX2 will go on sale almost immediately, with a suggested retail price of £1,529 (inc VAT).
At first glance, the new machine doesn't look hugely different from its predecessor, and that's because it isn't. The basic story remains the same - it's still a combined two-deck player and mixer for rekordbox with its own built-in LCD display. But look at little closer and you'll notice that there are now eight brightly coloured performance pads below each jogwheel, rather than the XDJ-RX's four, because the player can now set eight hot cues per deck. Less obvious is that that seven-inch LCD screen at the top is now touch-enabled - it's the same screen that's found on the CDJ-2000NX2 and and DJM-9000NX2 - while a new rotary selector dial has been added to the right of the screen. There's also an extra Aux RCA input round the back.
The new unit comes bundlied with a licence key for rekordbox, and is also compatible with rekordbox video, for all the aspiring VJs out there.
