22,000 ravers were evacuated safely from the arena

Yesterday saw something of a minor miracle occurring in Barcelona, Spain, when organisers of the Tomorrowland Unite festival managed to safely evacuate 22,000 festival-goers after a serious fire broke out on the main stage.

The fire began while the main arena was hosting a live stream of Armin Van Buuren's set at the parent Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. The cause of the fire is believed to have been a technical malfunction of some kind - it's been suggested this may have been related to a planned pyrotechnics display, though precise details have yet to emerge.

What we do know is that the organisers were quick to respond and managed to clear the Parc de Can Zam, with no casualties reported. So a big shout out to those whose quick thinking helped to avert what could have otherwise turned out very differently.
