100 per cent of proceeds will go to charities

With the coronavirus pandemic currently sweeping through India with devastating effect, a charity compilation album entitled We The People is being released today.

The multi-genre album has been put together by Berlin-based techno DJ/producer Pooja B, and all the tracks are by Indian artists, whether they're actually based in India (like iDJ fave Todh Teri, who features on the album in his Low Volume guise) or are artists of Indian extraction who now live outside of the country.

All the artists involved are giving their time and the fruits of their studio labours for free, so 100 per cent of proceeds from the album will go to charities working on the ground in India to alleviate the crisis. The charities in question being…

• Citizens Covid War Room (treatment for underprivileged, relief for those rendered jobless and for families who lost their breadwinners to covid)
• Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (healthcare support and logistics for COVID-19 patients)
• Hemkunt Foundation (providing oxygen and humanitarian aid to marginalised sections of society)
• Milaap (supporting the transgender community in Mumbai)
• Mukul Madhav Foundation (helping communities access life saving equipment and relief)
• Protsahan India Foundation (aid for children orphaned due to COVID-19)

The album is out today via Bandcamp, and the full tracklist can be seen below.
