The station revamp also includes a new studios with a Funktion One soundsystem

Brighton-based DAB radio station Trickstar will relaunch on 1 March, broadcasting from a brand new studio built in partnership with Funktion One, and now reaching out to a potential audience of 3.6 million.

Trickstar Radio has been broadcasting dance music, hip-hop and electronica across the Brighton area since 2013. This new licence will see the station expanding its DAB reach across the Bournemouth, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton areas, a reach that makes them now officially the biggest dance music specialist station in the UK's south coast region.

The licence also includes authorisation for a limited number of FM broadcasts, which the station plan to use for live broadcasts from festivals such as Boomtown and Glastonbury, as well as on-the-spot coverage from conferences such as ADE and the Miami Winter Music Conference.

Artists who already have shows confirmed for the first couple of months after relaunch include Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Armin Van Buuren, Chris Liebing, Claude VonStroke, DJ EZ, Eddie Halliwell, Franky Rizardo, Huxley, Jaguar Skills, Joris Voorn, Josh Butler, Maceo Plex, Nicole Moudaber, Noisia, Prok & Fitch, Prototypes, Sasha, Seb Zito and Serge Santiago.

For more information, keep an eye on Trickstar's revamped website (coming soon).
