Ukrainian producer Iryna Shvydka teams up with San Francisco-based duo Tone Of Arc

For their 31st release, Eleatics welcome Ukrainian artist 8Kays, who has previously released on labels such as Sincopat, Jee Productions and Baroque, and who here teams up with American duo Tone Of Arc.

First up is the Original Mix. It starts with a single, pulsing synth tone and a kickdrum that's joined by a meatier kick and incidental synth sounds, then plays on for a while with before bringing in a pensive, spoken vocal which suits the track perfectly. As the track progresses, more percussion, along with more interesting synth sounds, and they double-track the vocal which gives a great sound as well.

Next comes the Alex Niggemann Remix, which is slower and more brooding, with an electro breakbeat and the vocal cut and pasted. Later into the track he really develops the synth playing and gives it neo/retro electro feel, which suits the track and certainly adds another dimension. The final mix comes from legendary French artist Olivier Giacomotto, who starts with click and a snare before throwing in a vocal chant while the synth line develops. By the time the full track kicks in, the floor should erupt as this mix is perhaps the most accessible and again uses the full vocal and some of the big synth sounds from the original to great effect.

This is a well rounded package for lovers of dark, techy, proggy fare, with the first and last mixes working best for me as they have a more danceable tempo and more of a groove going on.
